Penetration Grade Bitumen – The Most Essential Standard in Global Road Construction
Penetration grade bitumen is the most important and widely used paving binder in the global asphalt industry. It remains the primary choice for road construction, highways, asphalt production, and infrastructure projects due to its stable performance, predictable behavior, and compatibility with a wide range of climates and traffic conditions.
The penetration value, measured at 25°C, indicates the hardness and durability of the bitumen. This simple yet highly reliable classification system has become the global standard, used in more than 90% of asphalt projects worldwide. It enables engineers to select the right grade for hot regions, cold climates, and various pavement designs.
We supply all major penetration grades including 30/40, 40/50, 60/70, 80/100, 100/120, 120/150, and 200/300. Hard grades such as 30/40 and 40/50 are ideal for heavy traffic and high-temperature regions. Softer grades like 120/150 and 200/300 offer excellent flexibility in cold climates and help prevent thermal cracking.
